Salim Succar - Corporate Lawyer and Government Legal Advisor

Salim Succar is a Haitian lawyer whose career spans private practice, government service, international legal cooperation, and financial regulation. He serves as managing partner of Lissade-Succar Law Firm in Port-au-Prince, specializing in corporate and maritime law, mergers and acquisitions, and new business development. Additionally, Salim Succar has contributed regularly to the World Bank's annual Doing Business publication.

Moreover, Salim Succar has held numerous senior advisory roles within the Haitian government. He served as technical advisor to five Ministers of Justice and on a joint commission between the Central Bank and the Ministry of Justice responsible for implementing Haiti's Financial Intelligence Unit and addressing anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing issues. For a decade, he served as Haiti's senior contact with the Caribbean Financial Action Task Force and helped draft the country's AML/CFT legislation, which Parliament enacted. He later served as a senior advisor in the Penal Code reform initiated under President René Préval.

His international work includes serving as Haiti's designated expert to the OAS and the United Nations on criminal justice and transnational organized crime matters. Salim Succar has also held senior government positions as Deputy Chief of Staff to President Michel Joseph Martelly and Chief of Staff and Special Advisor to Prime Minister Laurent Salvador Lamothe.

Academically, Salim Succar earned a law degree from Haiti State University and is a member of several international legal organizations.
